1977 Chrysler Avenger Hillman Avenger Alpine

This is a Hillman Avenger Alpine. I had been looking for an Alpine for over ten years, so when this one came up, I snapped it up. The "Alpine" comes with the twin headlights and round instruments in the dash and a few other minor changes/improvements over the standard avenger. The Alpine usually comes with a 1600cc twin carb motor, which doesn't feature on this car - Which, I am sorry, I can't explain. This car was bought by me about 6 years ago for $3,500 and it drove well. Was warranted and registered for a while and I actually used it. However, sadly it is not going now. The mechanic went to put a new carburetor in which I sought from Smash Palace and it turned out to be the wrong Carburetor for this avenger. The mechanic then (quite correctly) acknowledged that he couldn't do the job and charge accordingly so I have been left with a car that doesn't go, owes me about $5,000 and me just wanting a retro car to drive. The muffler blew off too and I don't think that was replaced either. The WOF is expired as has the registration. To be clear, the registration is not on hold. I have varied opinions on how hard it is to re-register this car - Unfortunately it is not something I am interested in doing. I don't know enough about cars to have this as a hobby. I will follow through with photos. Whoever buys this car will need to transport it away. It has been stored in my lock up (inside dry and secure) for two years now.
