We have an opportunity for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop in Levin working on all heavy trucks, camper van / motor homes and heavy machinery.
This role is open to applicants in and outside of Levin , however you must already be in New Zealand with relevant NZ work experience. You must have at least 2 years of relevant automotive and/or engine work of a NZ Trade qualified (or equivalent) Diesel Mechanic, or Light Vehicle Mechanic and be eager to train to Diesel.
You must be able to work within the timeframe of the project and be a reliable member of the team.
Knowing, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements, and company policies and procedures.
What you'll be doing
Servicing and maintenance of heavy diesel trucks / Machinery
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
Repairs including clutches, gearboxes and differentials
Engine rebuilds and major component repairs
Preventative maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups
COF checking and repair work
Conducting test drives and system testing after repairs
Maintaining service records and communicating repair plans

Strong diagnostic and repair skills
Ability to work well within a team and on your own
Commitment to health and safety practices
Class 1 a must 2, 4 , 5 license (desirable but not needed)

Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week normally worked between 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
$35 to $45 per hour depending on experience.
