Customers particularly praise its fresh fried chicken and chips, which have become a popular choice among locals. The supermarket is open seven days a week and is regarded as a reliable and affordable alternative to larger supermarket chains in the area.

Super Save is located at Levin within the Horowhenua District of the Manawatu-Whanganui region. We are looking for full-time & permanent Sales Assistant.

As a Sales Assistant your day-to-day job responsibilities will be:
• Determine customer requirements and provide appropriate advice on product range, features, and pricing to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Operate point-of-sale systems, including preparing sales invoices, processing transactions, and accepting payments through various methods such as cash, EFTPOS, and electronic payments.
• Assist in the management of stock levels by monitoring inventory, participating in regular stocktakes, and ensuring accurate stock records are maintained.
• Demonstrate and explain products and services to customers to enhance product understanding and encourage sales.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation standards within the grocery department to ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment.
• Safely receive, unload, and handle incoming goods in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures.
• Verify incoming stock against delivery documentation, ensuring accuracy in quantities, quality, and product specifications.
• Report and follow up on any discrepancies or variations identified between delivery documentation and received goods.
• Replenish and fill grocery shelves and displays in a timely manner to maintain optimal stock availability for customers.
• Re-stack, organise, and maintain stock within the storeroom to ensure efficient storage and easy accessibility.
• Break down bulk stock deliveries and prepare items for immediate shelving, future replenishment, or storage as required.
• Support effective stock rotation practices to minimise waste and ensure product freshness.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned to support smooth supermarket operations and customer service excellence.
Candidate Characteristics:

• Should be available to work weekdays and weekends according to the roster.
• Can work autonomously un-supervised when required using own initiative.
• Is energetic with a proactive approach & Positive can-do attitude and energy.
• Is customer-focused and conducts themselves in a professional manner.
• The ability to work within a team.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Take pride in their workspace & efficiency.
• You will need a good level of physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 15-20 kgs bags manually.

Requirements:
• Workable communication skills include reading, writing and cash handling.
• NZ Register Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education
• Citizen, Resident or a valid Visa to work in New Zealand.
• Ability to work in a Multicultural Environment.
• Physical fitness, as repeated lifting is required.

Although experience is preferred, it is not essential. Training will be provided to the successful applicants.

Please note, this is a full-time position with rostered/split shifts, including weekends and evening shifts as we operate seven days a week. Applicants should be available as per roster shifts including weekends and evening shifts.
