Are you looking for a career that offers real meaning and personal fulfilment in an industry where no two days are the same?

IC Mark are seeking an empathetic and warm professional to join our friendly and supportive team, dedicated to caring for families as they farewell their loved ones.

While previous experience or qualifications in the funeral industry are preferred, we are open to hearing from candidates who believe they have the emotional maturity, professionalism, and adaptability to succeed in this rewarding field.

This is not a pastoral care role. It is a unique form of time sensitive event coordination, requiring empathy, efficiency, and grace under pressure. Funeral Directors are often working behind the scenes and must be comfortable with both the visible and unseen elements of this profession.

In this role you will meet with families, guiding them through the process of planning and organising the funeral and then implementing the plans for the funeral. You will have a high level of empathy, will be a calm problem solver, understanding that our families are under stress when they engage our services and are relying on us for assistance and guidance.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday plus on call work. You are required to be on the duty roster, requiring regular and significant evening and weekend work outside of business hours, including public holidays, in addition to your usual working days and hours.

The successful applicant will need:
• Excellent personal presentation
• An empathetic disposition
• To be physically fit (heavy lifting is required)
• To display attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Highly effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Competent computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
• To be comfortable operating AV equipment and other technology (training will be provided)
• A willingness to learn and undertake the required training.
• To have and maintain a clean Full NZ Driver’s License
• To have and maintain a clean Police Record
• Valid working rights for NZ

Company benefits include:
• Professional development and attendance at industry events
• An on-call allowance
• Over-time for weekend on-call work

Salary will be discussed based on skill and experience.
