We currently have a full-time permanent vacancy at Avonlea Dementia Care, working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Hourly rates are as follows: $23.95 (Level 1), $24.06 (Level 2) $26.16 (Level 3), $28.25 (Level 4)

You will:

  • Assist in the delivery of culturally safe, effective, holistic personal care needs such as showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication
  • contribute to planning the care of individuals and following therapy plans to assist those with dementia
  • observe and report on residents progress and promptly report any change in residents’ condition or concerns about care
  • ensure residents’ records are accurate, appropriate and up to date
  • provide support to registered nurses within their scope of practice

Requirements for consideration:

  • A genuine commitment to make a positive difference to the lives of elderly people by caring for them with love and empathy
  • Ability to work any shift across a 24/7 roster
  • A passion for working in the field of aged care
  • Previous caregiving experience preferred
  • Experience in dementia care would be a strong advantage
  • Certificate in Health and Wellbeing/Registered Nurse

We are an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer.
To qualify for visa support, the following additional requirements apply:

  • A Registered Nursing degree, OR
  • A Level 4 or above qualification directly relevant to caregiving, accompanied by an International Qualification Assessment (IQA),
