Blackhood Bakes is expanding across the region, and we’re looking for reliable, friendly Front-of-House Baristas & Sandwich Artists to join our teams in Ohau, Otaki, Te Horo, and Paraparaumu.
We are also recruiting Junior Chefs — but applicants must already be living locally in the Kapiti–Horowhenua area.

About the Role
You’ll be part of a busy, high-performing café environment where quality, consistency, and customer experience matter. Your day will include:
- Creating exceptional coffee and beverages
- Preparing sandwiches, toasties, cabinet food, smoothies and iced drinks
- Heating pies and supporting general food preparation
- Delivering warm, professional customer service
- Maintaining food-safety and hygiene standards (including SafefoodPro)
- Supporting daily operations: cleaning, stock replenishment, POS service, and general site upkeep
- Working as part of a positive, supportive team
(Barista + sandwich-making experience strongly preferred.)
What We’re Looking For
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Confidence during busy service periods
- Great communication skills and pride in customer service
- A passion for food, coffee and hospitality
- Weekend availability
- Previous hospitality experience (barista + sandwich artist experience preferred)
- Bakers, Chefs and Junior Chefs must already be living in the local area
