NZ Egg Group is looking for a reliable and flexible Relief Poultry Farm Worker to join our team.
This position provides additional cover across our poultry farms, including roster gaps, annual leave and staff sickness. You may also be required to work in our egg pulping/processing plant when operational cover is needed.
About the role:
Guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week
Normal working hours are approximately 6:00am–3:00pm
Our roster week runs Wednesday to Tuesday
Your roster for the upcoming week will generally be provided on Tuesday evening
Working days and locations will vary depending on where cover is required
You may occasionally be contacted at short notice to cover staff sickness
Work will be across different NZ Egg Group poultry farm sites
You may also be rostered to work in our egg pulping/processing plant
Duties may include poultry care, bird checks, egg collection, cleaning, biosecurity duties, general farm work and production/processing duties
We’re looking for someone who:
Is reliable and comfortable working a flexible roster
Can be available at short notice where reasonably possible
Holds a full driver licence
Is comfortable working across multiple locations and different areas of the business
Is physically fit and comfortable working around poultry
Has good time management and can work independently
Takes animal welfare, food safety and biosecurity seriously
Is willing to learn — previous farming, poultry or food-processing experience would be helpful but is not essential
This is a varied relief position, so flexibility is a key part of the role. You may work at different farms throughout the week or be assigned to the pulping plant depending on operational requirements.
Hours: Minimum 20 guaranteed hours per week, with additional hours available as required.
Roster: Wednesday–Tuesday, generally issued Tuesday evening.
