About the Role
We are offering an opportunity for a Psychology Intern in our Psychology Services at Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki.
The internship will be for a fixed term period of 12 months (1.0 FTE). We can offer valuable learning opportunities in our mental health service teams which include adult community, child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) and mental health services for older people (MHSOP). We will work with you to identify the arrangement that works best.
Interns will receive appropriate supervision in each service they work in. They will have opportunity to experience working in community, outpatient and inpatient settings, delivering group and individual interventions, and to be part of the multi-disciplinary team.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Psychologists work from the hospitals base site in New Plymouth and its satellite clinics in Hawera Stratford. In some services psychologists will also deliver services in community settings.
Working in a smaller district guarantees a wide range of experience. We have a small but friendly group of psychologists working at Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki across a range of specialties and in recent years have had more than one intern with us, as well as students on pre-intern placements. We also have a peer led group for early career psychologists and allied health new graduates programme.

The successful candidates will:
- Be enrolled with a Board approved postgraduate psychology training programme
- Have the support of appropriate academic professionals from the university
- Be enthusiastic and keen to learn and experience new environments
