Turk’s Poultry Farm is looking for a motivated, organised and hands-on 2IC Dispatch Manager to support the day-to-day running of our Dispatch Department. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent coordination abilities and a passion for keeping things running smoothly in a fast-paced production environment.
Working closely with the Dispatch Manager, you’ll help lead the team, coordinate orders and deliveries, and ensure our products are dispatched accurately, efficiently and on time.
About the role
As the 2IC, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Dispatch Manager and ensuring the department operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll help coordinate daily workloads, support and guide the team, and step up to lead the department when required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Dispatch Manager with the daily operations of the department.
- Coordinating dispatch schedules, orders and deliveries to meet customer requirements.
- Ensuring products are accurately picked, checked, loaded and dispatched on time.
- Leading, supporting and motivating team members to achieve daily targets.
- Maintaining accurate dispatch documentation, records and system transactions.
- Ensuring health and safety, food safety and quality standards are consistently followed.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity and efficiency.
- Communicating effectively with Production, Transport, Warehouse and other departments.
- Stepping into the Dispatch Manager role when required.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and confident taking responsibility in a busy operational environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in dispatch, warehousing, logistics or a similar operational environment.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to support, motivate and hold a team accountable.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Good computer skills and confidence using dispatch or inventory systems.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, food safety and quality.
Experience in a food manufacturing or chilled distribution environment would be an advantage.
