Cleaning Supervisor

Main focus: Lead the cleaning team while remaining actively involved in maintaining a consistently clean, safe and welcoming home for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the daily work of the cleaning team, including allocating duties and monitoring completion.
• Undertake cleaning duties alongside the team as required.
• Ensure resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas and other facility areas are cleaned to the required standard.
• Maintain appropriate infection prevention and control practices, including correct cleaning methods, products, equipment and use of PPE.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely, maintained appropriately and stored securely.
• Provide instruction and ongoing guidance to cleaning staff.
• Work respectfully around residents, recognising their privacy, dignity, preferences and the fact that the facility is their home.
• Ensure cleaning records, schedules and other required documentation are completed accurately.

Key requirements

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in aged care, healthcare or a similar environment.
• Experience supervising or coordinating staff is desirable.
• Reliable, organised and able to prioritise work.
• Respectful and comfortable working around older people, including residents living with dementia.
• Good communication and team leadership skills.
