About the role
Looking for a hands-on role in a growing, sustainable industry? Phoenix Metal Recyclers is seeking two Yard Metal Buyer / Processor to join our friendly and hardworking team at our Whangarei Yard. You’ll be a key part of our recycling operations, sorting metals, engaging with customers, and helping keep our yard safe, efficient, and well organised.
What you’ll be doing:
*Sorting & identifying scrap metal accurately for processing *Buying scrap metal and dealing directly with customers *Delivering excellent customer service and building positive relationships *Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard *Working closely with the team to meet daily operational needs *Following health & safety procedures at all times
What we’re looking for:
*Experience in a scrap metal, recycling, or yard-based role is an advantage (but training provided for the right person) *A friendly, customer-focused attitude *Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn *Good communication skills and a team-player mindset *Commitment to health, safety, and safe manual handling *Physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor environment
