Pact is currently looking for 4 casual Community Support Workers to work in our intellectual disability residential service across Cromwell/Alexandra
The role
We are looking for enthusiastic, community-minded, and compassionate people to work alongside people who have intellectual disabilities.
We focus on self-development, where you will have a chance to train and gain further education on the job, which enhances your CV within the organisation. Our starting rate is $24.78 an hour and increases to $29.10 after completing your Career Force Level 4 qualification with us, which is on job-based training. We offer a lot of training which ensures you have the skills to be the best support person within Pact.
You will be working across our Cromwell and Alexandra services.
Key Responsibilities
Your days may vary, but will consist of:
*Engaging with clients. *Setting and achieving individual personal goals *Encouraging client participation in day-to-day life *Supporting them with activities of daily living *Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs *Supporting clients with personal hygiene *Activities within the community *Supporting social and whanau connection *Motivating clients to know they have a purpose *Ensuring client processes are accurately documented *Most importantly, supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
We are looking for someone who follows the company’s values of being Vibrant, Innovative, Supportive and Professional. We have longevity within our teams, and the ability to move around services or departments.
As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend, awake night and sleepover shifts.
Desired Skills and Experience No qualifications are needed, however, there will be an expectation that you will be willing to work towards a Level 4 in Health & Disability. You will inspire, encourage, and be a role model plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
*A full driver's licence as you will be expected to drive clients when needed *Computer skills are essential *If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
