Our client, an Auckland-based construction company specializing in roofing, roofing maintenance, construction, and building maintenance, has recently secured an exciting new project on the North Shore!
About You: We are looking for a qualified carpenter with a minimum of 5 years experience working in New Zealand. You should be ready to embark on a new build project that is expected to last approximately 18 months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role. You have experience in roofing and maintenance carpentry and can effectively support other carpenters on the commercial team. Your background includes enhancing and maintaining properties while delivering exceptional quality to clients, regardless of project size, conditions, or deadlines. You are solutions-focused and eager to dive into new challenges.
About the Role: Our client is a well-established New Zealand-based construction company with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality work to clients. With a team of over 45 builders and roofers, led by a hands-on management team, they have successfully completed numerous projects for large property funds in New Zealand, ranging from minor repairs to industrial re-roofing and renovations.
As a reliable and trustworthy carpenter, you will thrive in a busy team environment. Your primary responsibilities will involve roofing work, along with some maintenance carpentry. Exceptional communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be working with daily deadlines and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Installing metal roofing onto metal trusses
- Lifting up to 25kgs
- Performing framing work
- Assisting other carpenters in the commercial team
What You Bring:
- Qualified carpenter with at least 5 years of experience in New Zealand
- NZ citizen or Resident Visa holder
- Valid Site Safe certification
- Experience working at heights
- EWP certification (beneficial but not required)
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and values
