Overhead Supervisor- Connections

An exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced Supervisor to join our Auckland Connections team who are working on interesting projects across the wider Auckland region.

Our supervisors are responsible for the safety compliance and motivating their teams to deliver satisfying outcomes for clients and customers. The role will include regular site visits.

The role Reporting to the Delivery Manager- Connections, you'll walk the safety talk but also be responsible to lead a team in the delivery of connections, work effectively and efficiently in accordance with all required procedures, standards, and customer expectations. You will provide technical expertise and support, scoping and planning guidance to the Delivery Manager as needed.

The role will also see you:

• Making sure the construction/installation of electrical connections to customer and Network requirements are actioned in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
• Managing the effective use of the Live Work Justification Tool for all work being planned
• Adhering to all Live LV Work procedures as required for any works being actioned under live circumstances and as approved through Live Work Justification Process
• Liaising with customers and/or neighbours and stakeholders affected by works with open, honest, and timely communication regarding outages and/or access limitations caused by our works
• Planning outages and customer notification requirements in accordance with timeframes and systems always required by Vector

About you To be successful in this role you will have a passion being a people leader mentoring field and office staff. You will also demonstrate :

• Proven experience leading a team as a supervisor or team leader
• EWRB Registration
• L4 Distribution Line Mechanic qualification
• Technical knowledge with demonstrated overhead lines experience
• Full class 1 NZ Driver Licence
• A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A strong commitment to health and safety with an excellent safety record and safety first attitude
• High standard of work ethics and professionalism
• Physical ability to perform field work relevant to the role as required
• Capable of working well under pressure in a high works volume environment
• Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed
