ALUMINIUM FABRICATOR/INSTALLER
Thermosash Commercial Ltd started in 1973 and has expanded to become New Zealand’s established leader in the commercial window and curtainwall design/manufacturing/ contracting field with branches in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
We have multiple opportunities for experienced Aluminum Fabricator / Installers across the North Island in the Wellington, Manawatu/Whanganui, Hawkes Bay, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Taranaki, Waikato, Auckland and Northland regions. Due to the nature of the business and the role, flexibility to work across these regions is required.
We are seeking applicants with a minimum of 3 years aluminum fabrication and installation experience within the façade industry. Hourly rate starts from $29.66 - $33.00 depending on experience.
Hours worked are 7.30am – 4pm Monday to Friday totaling 40 per week. Overtime at time and a half is paid after 40 hours work. A minimum of 30 hours a week is guaranteed.
Working in a site installation team you will be specialising in fabrication, on-site assembly and installation of our facade systems: aluminum curtainwalls, rainscreens, aluminium joinery, solarshade louvres, aluminium cladding etc. This will also require operating our specialist machinery. You will need to read mechanical/shop drawings, machining detail drawings and specifications to determine job requirements and fabrication & installation procedures, understand window, curtainwall and façade components and terminology and how mechanical components fit together and how and why window, curtainwall and facade systems leak.
Physical fitness, reliability, good communication skills and a 'can do' attitude are essential. Experience in high-rise construction, EWP and working at heights certification plus the ability to operate site installation equipment such as crawler cranes/ walkie forklifts is required. Applicants who also have experience installing Schuco proprietary window systems will be given preference.
