A Rangiora-based company is looking to train a carpenter to make high-end wood veneer!
- Competitive salary ($35-$40 per hour depending on experience)

About the company + role
This company is a leading door manufacturing company that delivers wooden veneer products throughout New Zealand. They need someone who can eventually lead a small team of 3. This role is 95% hands-on. You will be working with machinery to cut and measure timber to very fine detail.
About the role
- Using a state-of- the art machine (which you will be fully trained on), slice timber to create wooden veneer
- Plan and organise your own daily and weekly tasks efficiently
- There is some travel to grade/select & purchase timber around the South Island area
- Hours: 6am - 2:30pm Monday to Friday
What you'll need to succeed
- Mechanical mindset
- Ideally, have an apprenticeship with a carpentry qualification or joinery qualification as this is a very skilled position
- Genuine interest in wood and wood manufacturing processes. Able to identify grade timber
- Basic computer skills, emails and excel
