As we expand our Butchery operations, we are looking for a hardworking, dedicated Senior Butcher to join the evening shift at our Auckland branch. As a Senior butcher, you will be part of a fast paced team and assist in providing high quality meat cuts. You will be a confident Butcher with certification to match.
The job:
- Immediate start
- Role: Full time, permanent
- Location: Ihumatao road, Mangere
- Days of work: Sunday to Friday
- Shift timings: 2.00 pm to 11.00 pm
- Saturdays off
The role:
This role encompasses a variety of tasks essential to our meat processing operation. You will be responsible for:
- Precisely cutting meat to separate valuable components like meat, fat, and tissue from around bones.
- Creating high-quality cuts of meat according to designated specifications, including deboning techniques.
- Wrapping and packing finished meat cuts and products to ensure proper hygiene and maintain freshness.
- Moving carcasses to the boning table for preparation and operating processing machinery efficiently.
- Packing processed meat stock into cartons for organized storage and future use.
- Ensure that the stock is labelled correctly and packed as per Operational SOPs
- Check to ensure all meat are stored properly and stock is rotated.
- Maintain high standards of Food safety and Health and Safety at all times
The person:
Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and passionate about what they do. You would be physically strong and fit, can hit the ground running and love working in a fast-paced environment.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
- A Trade qualification or relevant butchery experience
- Skill and experience in cutting meat and preparing standard meat cuts
- Proven skills in Beef Boning or Slicing
- Around 3-5 years of hands on experience in the industry
- Evidence of a referenced, stable work history
- Be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items
- A proven commitment to Safety & Wellbeing and Food Safety in the workplace.
- Organised, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
