Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunity We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic clinical exercise physiologist (or similar) to join our team. If you are a person passionate about supporting individuals and whānau with the benefits of exercise on their hauora journey, then this could be the job for you.

As a key member of the extended care team, with a multi-disciplinary team including nurses/nurse practitioner, dietitian, and health coaches, you will be contributing to the collective team knowledge and support for the wellbeing of our community. You will work in a range of environments, including home visits, gym and pool sessions, group exercise sessions, and marae and community clinics.

If you are wanting to leave the hustle and bustle of the city, for a lifestyle by the lake and close to the mountains, this could be the job for you.

This role is a fixed term role covering maternity leave until 26 July 2025.

He kōrero mōu: About you

  • Relevant qualification and knowledge around exercise science and clinical exercise prescription with a focus on long term conditions (registration with CEPNZ or SESNZ is preferred).
  • Experience in delivering community-based exercise programmes with clients and whānau.
  • Proficient with taking basic observations such as blood pressure, heart rate / O2 saturation monitoring, blood glucose testing.
  • Ability to carry out spirometry assessments is preferred, but not compulsory.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of using Māori models of health and wellbeing.
  • A valid first aid certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Proficient computer and IT skills.
  • Full NZ drivers’ licence.
