Hokianga Para Kore/EcoSolutions Enviro Educator

CBEC EcoSolutions/ Para Kore Te Hiku are Northland's waste reduction education experts, to reduce impact on our environment.

We are looking for a Hokianga based environmental educator.

Your role will include: Waste Wise Schools: working hands on with schools to support them on their waste minimisation journey. Delivering a range of interactive classes designed to empower students to reduce waste and care for Papatuanuku, including composting, upcycling, recycling and reducing waste. You’ll carry on existing relationships with Waste Wise Schools and build capacity to onboard new schools in the future. We provide full training and ongoing support.

The role includes:

• Delivering waste minimisation units to Early Childcare Centres and Schools in the Hokianga District
•  Sourcing waste stream solutions rather than landfill and building up a knowledge base of alternatives.
• record keeping and follow-up accurate reporting (written, oral) and maintaining an online presence.
• some evening or weekend workshops.

The ideal candidate

•   Is passionate about protecting the environment and can inspire others to love it too.
• Is self-motivated, reliable, an excellent time manager, and able to work independently without supervision, and as part of a team.
• Able to lead workshops and activities aimed at reducing our impact on Papatūānuku.

A full driver’s license is a requirement along with the ability to pass a police check prior to commencing. You must be eligible to work in NZ.
