Business Development Manager

Action Manufacturing represents three iconic brands in NZ's heavy transport industry - Fairfax, Freighter NZ and Transcold (transport refrigeration). We are New Zealand’s largest manufacturer of refrigerated truck bodies and trailers under our Fairfax brand as well as producing dry freight truck bodies & trailers under our Freighter NZ brand.

Action Manufacturing has a rare and exciting new opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join the leadership team in the position of Business Development Manager.

To be considered for this role you will need to be South Island based and have a passion for heavy transport with previous sales experience in the heavy transport industry or similar. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can support the expansion of our South Island footprint with securing new equipment sales and promoting our service & repairs capabilities (carried out at our Christchurch workshops).

You will need to be customer focused with an ability to build strong relationships and develop enduring business partnerships with our customers. You will have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of the sales process in heavy transport and you will be comfortable and capable managing customer expectations and contributing to local sales strategies within the team.

It is essential that you are a self-starter, able to manage your time effectively. You will have excellent communication skills and while your South Island location means that you will be working autonomously for a lot of the time, there is a strong team around you to provide support and guidance if needed. Across our team, we have a number of individuals who are highly experienced in this market and collectively we hold a vast amount of knowledge and expertise in NZ heavy transport.
