ABOUT THE ROLE - NGĀ ĀHUATANGA O TE TŪRANGA

Our pool facilities are more popular than ever, and as a Lifeguard for the AC Baths you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience, but a safe one. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • General lifeguarding duties to ensure customers are safe and looked after; and
  • Supporting the Team Leader with day-to-day operations at the pools

We have two full-time, 40 hours per week opportunities for individuals who are able to work on a rotating roster.

These positions are deemed safety sensitive positions and will require pre-employment drug tests.

Taupo District Council is committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. These roles are classified as Children's Worker roles under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014. As such applicants will be required to undergo police vetting prior to commencing employment. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory police vetting.

Please note, you will be asked to complete a timed 200m swim as part of the interview process.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR - KEI TE KIMI MĀTOU I TĒNEI MOMO TANGATA

It goes without saying that you'll have a passion for aquatics and sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety. You will be an excellent communicator, mature and committed to making a difference in our local community.

Joining an energetic and passionate team, this role is suited to candidates that are resilient and laser focused. You will be working in a fast-paced environment across our indoor and outdoor pool areas to ensure a positive Health and Safety culture.

If you hold a current First Aid Certificate and a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate, that will be a huge bonus however, if you are a confident swimmer or confident in deep water, keen to start a career in our industry, apply now as we will provide you with all you need to be a qualified Lifeguard.

Please note our pools operate 7 days a week, reliability and commitment to working early, late and some weekend shifts are crucial.
