Our Opportunity:

We are seeking two experienced Instrumentation Technicians to join our maintenance team. Both with a broad control and instrumentation background, having experience with a wide variety of industrial instrumentation, control valves and actuators, control systems (PLC's, HMI's) and analysers. The roles work alongside staff from maintenance, production, engineering and other Mercury generation sites to ensure that this process is optimised, reliable and safe.

The positions come with the flexibility and autonomy to adapt to suit the individual strengths. Mercury's structure enables people in the same role at different locations to share and connect to encourage ongoing learning and knowledge sharing. You'll join a close-knit team who value supporting each other and putting safety first. You'll be joining a maintenance team of 13 who are spread across our Central Geothermal stations - Nga Awa Purua, Rotokawa and Nga Tamariki. This team who value supporting each other and putting safety first enjoys the flexible work environment Mercury offers with most working a 9-day fortnight.

Key responsibilities include:

Subject matter expert for all things control and instrumentation Accountable for the quality assurance and schedule attainment of planned maintenance activities Provide supervision of maintenance activities to ensure quality standards are met, along with health and safety and compliance all maintained Provide effective and timely response to break-in works including planning and execution and a key focus on fault finding Execution of scheduled planned maintenance Troubleshoot and problem solve plant upsets and issues Identify, share and implement continuous improvement initiatives Collect and document plant performance and maintenance history Champion a world class attitude to health and safety management

We are looking for:

Advanced trade level Instrumentation qualification essential - Industrial Measurement and Control (IMC) or similar Electrical registration Hazardous area training Experience in plant operations, process control or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy process industry Experience with control and instrumentation maintenance in a power generation environment would be desirable High level of computer literacy
