Financial Analyst - Operations

Te Tūranga | About the role:

The Financial Analyst provides financial performance reporting to our Operations and Site Leadership teams and to the business more broadly, that inform decision making to increase the overall profitability of Silver Fern Farms.

Working closely with the Senior Commercial Analyst Operations, the Financial Analyst will prepare and interpret weekly/monthly reports, forecasts, and budget to provide insights, commentary, reporting and value analysis. This work will enable our Operations leaders to make decisions and realise value across the business.

The key impact areas of this role are to:

• Prepare financial analysis and commentary that answers questions from Operations and Site leadership focused on efficiency initiatives - and then monitor and measure outcomes/progress.
• Provide business case analysis expertise - work with Operations teams to understand business case goals, then apply a lens of cost and revenue to ensure commercial viability.
• Work closely with the Operations Teams to build processes to identify and prioritise business opportunities.
• Provide strategic planning, business planning and option analysis/modelling

You'll be a professional with experience working in a similar role in a commercial team within the private sector or a highly experienced management accountant wanting to take a step towards a commercial role. A positive team player who enjoys working to deliver value and demonstrates the ability to be adaptable through change.

This role would suit a commercial professional wanting to work in a highly complex environment.

Ideally you will have:

• A relevant tertiary degree - professionally qualified accountancy would be ideal (CA, CPA etc)
• At least 5 years' experience in a relevant management accounting or commercial role
• Excellent relationship management skills; actively applies a customer service approach to key relationships throughout the business
