The Opportunity

Join our close-knit team on Kotuku Dairy on the West Coast and develop your technical skills on the farm.

On a daily basis, you'll follow a farm schedule to get the cows in and milk, you'll get out and do general farm duties like fencing, spraying weeds, etc.

Ideally you'll be able to ride a two-wheeler to but we're happy to help you with training to get you feeling confident if you don't know how to ride one.

There are four team members on the farm (including the manager). The team has a good atmosphere, enjoys a good laugh, and knows when to get out and get the work done.

We also have a robust health and safety regime at Pamu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment.

The Farm

Kotuku Dairy Unit is located in the Greymouth / Lake Brunner area of the West Coast. We peak milk 930 cows in a 60 bail rotary cow shed with ACRs. The farm is a humped and hollowed terrain of 500 ha with 471 ha effective.

About You

As a team player who brings a positive attitude to our highly motivated team - you will have:

  • Farm experience preferred but willingness to learn will be essential
  • Excellent work ethic and positive outlook
  • Ability to ride a two-wheel motorcycle and drive a side by side (training can be provided)
  • First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
  • Restricted or full driver's licence

Kotuku runs a 6/2 roster till Christmas and 6/3 for the rest of the year. You'll be able to schedule time with family, friends, sporting interests, clubs - whatever suits you and your lifestyle.
