About Us:
At Shark Engineering, we specialize in various engineering practices, including structural steel, industrial maintenance, and breakdown services. Our team of 14 staff adjusts to the demands of busy seasons, allowing us to maintain our commitment to exceptional service and operational efficiency. We’re on the lookout for a Finance and Administration Coordinator to support our financial and administrative tasks as we continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
  • Conduct bank account reconciliations and manage invoicing in Xero, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable and receivable.
  • Oversee the preparation of GST returns and assist with tax planning.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Input and allocate bills in Xero and Next Minute, including job-specific expenses.
  • Schedule vehicle registrations, repairs, and ERoad installations, ensuring all vehicles are properly documented.
  • Organise employee training, inductions, and maintain health and safety reports.
  • Process payroll and ensure timely payment of wages to staff, verifying accuracy in wage calculations
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Facilitate effective communication with suppliers and clients, including completing credit applications and following up on overdue invoices.
  • Conduct monthly check-ins with management regarding financial matters.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain paperless records, manage office supplies, and oversee uniform orders and mail collection.
  • Additional Tasks:
  • Assist senior management with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in finance or administration roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
