Description
If you're looking for the chance to step into a senior finance role and* enjoy an easier pace of life, this one is worth a serious look. We're partnering with a long-standing, family-owned organisation in the primary sector to find a Financial Controller who's keen to make an impact while enjoying everything the Eastern Bay of Plenty has to offer.
Think shorter commutes, friendlier communities, affordable living, and time back in your day - all while working in a role where your insights genuinely shape the business.
About the Role
You'll take charge of delivering financial information across the organisation, making sure managers and teams have the clarity they need to make good decisions. You'll work closely with the General Manager to streamline processes, spot improvements, and support accounts and admin staff with mentoring and coaching.
There's plenty of variety - from core reporting and forecasting through to project work, business cases, and data analysis that keeps the Support Office running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare information required by external accountants to complete financial accounts and Board reporting.
- Manage day-to-day cashflows and support Treasury activities with the GM.
- Lead the annual budgeting cycle and monitor performance throughout the year.
- Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting to business unit managers.
- Complete compliance reporting and tax payments accurately and on time.
About You
You're a practical, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with people across the business. You communicate clearly, bring good judgement, and step confidently into conversations where your advice helps shape the next move.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in a senior financial management role within a commercial environment; exposure to horticulture or agri is an advantage, not essential
- A tertiary qualification; CA is an advantage but not required.
- Strong analytical ability and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience with Tier 2 IFRS reporting.
- Proficiency in MYOB and advanced Excel, including financial modelling.
Why Move to the Eastern Bay of Plenty?
- Lifestyle** - beaches, bush walks, rivers, and space to breathe.
- Community** - friendly people, great local amenities, and a relaxed, down-to-earth culture.
- Cost of living** - more home for your money and fewer hours spent commuting.
- Balance** - time back in your week, without stepping back from your career.
It's a rare opportunity to grow professionally and* enjoy a lifestyle shift at the same time.
