Shepherd General

Sisam & Sons Limited is a 4750ha property situated 24 km south of Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty. The farm comprises two Sheep and Beef blocks, Dairy and Forestry.

We are recruiting for the position of a fulltime Shepherd General on our Back 870 ha Sheep and Beef block.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Shepherd General will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the implementation of grazing plans and stock movements.
• Implementing animal health programmes.
• Maintenance fencing and water reticulation.
• Other general farm duties as required.

The successful applicant will have:

• A positive attitude, punctuality and show initiative.
• Good communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
• At least 3 well trained working dogs.
• An ability to carry out tasks efficiently, safely and independently.
• Experience as a ' Shepherd' and general Sheep & Beef farm work.
• A restricted NZ driver’s license or better.
