We are currently seeking Potato Graders to join our team for the 2026 potato harvest season, based in Rakaia.

These are fixed-term seasonal roles, expected to run from mid-March through to May 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start depending on harvest conditions. No previous experience is required – full training will be provided.


About the Role:

As a Potato Grader, you will be part of the potato grading team, working closely with other graders and reporting to the Cropping Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the grading process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Grading potatoes to agreed quality standards
  • Removing damaged, cut or rotten potatoes, as well as stones, soil clods and plant material
  • Ensuring the grading process runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Reporting any machinery or equipment issues promptly to the Cropping Manager
  • Keeping equipment clean, tidy and in safe working order
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment in line with Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) requirements
  • Working cooperatively with the wider team to support daily operations

Shifts Available:

We operate two shifts during the harvest season:

  • 6:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Saturday
  • 4:00pm – 3:00am, Monday to Friday
