About Us Drummond Contracting is a family-owned agricultural contracting business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality baling and feed sales services across the region. We specialise in supplying small bales to a wide range of clients across New Zealand. From Providing quality hay for livestock to straw for garden centres, our work takes us far and wide, ensuring a fast and reliable supply with a consistent quality wherever we go. We pride ourselves on reliability, strong customer relationships, and maintaining high standards across all aspects of our operation.
The Role We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team in a hands-on, more yard-based/on the road delivering bales role. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for development and long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the yard.
- Stock control and inventory management.
- Organising and maintaining a tidy, efficient yard.
- Selling and handling bales.
- Dealing with customers and maintaining good client relationships.
- Machinery operating to the right candidate.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in agricultural contracting or a farming/agricultural environment is a must.
- Good knowledge of animal feed.
- Practical, organised, and safety-conscious approach to work.
- Confident communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work some weekends.
- Preferred sales experience.
- Must hold a current and valid New Zealand drivers license and either be a New Zealand citizen or have a current and valid visa.
Hours & Progression:
- 40 hours per week, with some weekend work required.
- Opportunity to increase hours during the season through machinery driving (for suitable candidates).
- Long-term potential to progress into a management position.
