Hi guys Our current shepherd is heading off on their OE. So, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive shepherd general to join our team at Glen Cary Station. The farm is situated in the Hakataramea Valley and is a sheep and cattle breeding operation with some dairy grazing. Approximately 4060 hectares effective.
You would be joining a dedicated team who take pride in doing jobs to a high standard, while not being afraid to think outside the norm. We believe in utilising good facilities and questioning the status quo.
This role will offer a variety of work on a daily basis with stock work being the main focus. General farm work and maintenance will also be a part of the position such as weed control, fencing, water reticulation and tractor work.
Key skills preferred for this position:
- At least 3 years shepherd experience
- A team of at least 4 broken in dogs
- Have a positive attitude, good communication, be organised and punctual
- Experience with general work, such as fencing, water reticulation, tractor and machinery skills.
