Herd Manager / Assistant Herd Manager

Apatu Farms is a family-owned, Hawkes Bay based agribusiness focused on growing and producing quality crops and dairy for local and global customers.

We are looking for a Herd Manager/Assistant Herd Manager to join our Plantation Dairy team located in Ongaonga, Central Hawkes Bay. This is a permanent fulltime position.

About the role: Reporting to the Farm Manager, and as part of a wider team, this role will support the day to day running of the farm. Some of your duties will include milking, stock movements milking, farm repairs, maintenance and weed control activities to optimise the farm’s performance.

The other key bits: *Great team and supportive environment *Work is completed on a 6:2 rostered basis. *Competitive remuneration based on experience.

About you: *You have previous experience working in dairy farms. *You are a New Zealand Citizen / Resident/Hold a current Work Visa *You hold a current New Zealand driver's licence *Willing to get stuck in, work with a team and achieve high-quality results.
