THE OPPORTUNITY
You may already be working in a 2IC or senior role, or you could be a dairy farm assistant ready to take the next step into leadership. If you’ve had experience guiding and supporting a team, this Production Manager (2IC) opportunity at Pinta Dairy could be a great next move.
You’ll be part of a supportive, down‑to‑earth team and work closely with a Farm Manager who is open and clear, and who takes the time to explain decisions, so everyone understands what’s happening.
You’ll help put farm plans into action and take responsibility for areas like feed allocation, animal health, breeding, and keeping farm records up to date. You’ll also be happy to pitch in and support the team where needed.
On the Farm Manager’s days off, you’ll step up and take responsibility for the team, making sure the day runs smoothly. This role works on 6 days on, 2 days off roster, giving you regular time away from work to rest and recharge.

Pāmu Landcorp Farming Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise with over 110 farms across New Zealand. Our purpose is to lead the delivery of innovative and sustainable agriculture solutions for future generations.
THE FARM
Pinta Dairy Unit is Pāmu’s largest dairy operation, milking around 2,100 cows across 877 hectares. The farm is supported by an upgraded 80-bail rotary dairy shed and makes use of Halter technology to enable modern, efficient farm management.
Pinta Dairy uses Halter technology on farm, giving you the chance to work with modern farming tools in a large-scale dairy operation.
Located just outside Taupō, Pinta offers the rare combination of a large, progressive farming operation and an exceptional lifestyle - with hunting, fishing, cycling and the outdoors right on your doorstep.
ABOUT YOU
You are self-motivated and passionate about dairy farming, wanting to grow your career and develop your leadership skills.
You will have:
- Dairy experience in grazing and animal health
- A commitment to individual and team development
- Pasture management and feed planning skills
- High standards of animal welfare and commitment to health and safety
- Current and full NZ driver’s licence
- Experience driving farm machinery/tractors
