THE OPPORTUNITY
Join our team on Somervilles Dairy and play a key role in rearing our next generation dairy cattle.
You’ll be responsible for caring for young calves, feeding, weighing, drafting, drenching, and monitoring their health and welfare. You may also assist with milking and general farm duties when required.
This is a drive in/drive out role, so reliable transport is required. This is a fixed term position from July 2026 to mid-January 2027. You are guaranteed 40 hours a week, there can be additional hours in busy weeks.
THE FARM
Somervilles Dairy Unit is located just outside of Reefton. Somervilles is a progressive 500 ha property milking approximately 1,000 cows through a 60-bail rotary shed with ACR’s, MilkHub and an in-shed feeding system.
ABOUT YOU
No prior experience required, training is provided. If you’re someone who takes pride in doing the job right and has a real care for animals, loves working outdoors, then we want to hear from you.
- You have an exceptional attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
- You are physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- You hold a restricted or full driver’s license
