Aoraki Tree and Scrub
Listing Description
Description
Do you enjoy working outside in stunning landscapes with a great team doing environmentally important work to protect New Zealand ecosystems? We have positions available in our team for fit people to get involved in clearing wilding pines and other invasive species. We are experiencing growth in the industry, hence our crew is expanding!
You would be part of a strong team supporting the management of wilding pines and other invasive plants, helping to protect our native eco-systems and wildlife around the Mackenzie District and Otago region. We use various tools and equipment to do this including chainsaws, scrub bars, loppers and herbicides. You may already be living in Twizel or the surrounding Mackenzie District, but some of our team commute in and stay at accommodation arranged by us from Monday to Friday. We can consider those who want a full time position as well as working with those who want part time or casual employment.
There will be occasions where walking up steep terrain is involved in accessing sites so a reasonable standard of fitness is expected and our ethos is about working safely. Some chainsaw experience and tickets would be preferred but training can be provided. A ‘can do’ attitude is a must.
