Supervisor – Outdoor Vegetable Production
About the Role We grow fresh to market vegetables. We are looking for a supervisor who can assist with leading a small team. This is a very hands-on role with oversight in the growing of our crops from seedling to harvest. This role will cover a variety of agricultural jobs from groundwork to field harvesting or grading and packing various crops/vegetables. In Spring there will be spraying assignments also if you have your Growsafe certificate. If you enjoy variety in your work, this position is for you!
Typical duties include:
- Assist in leading a fun and cheerful team, mixture of ages and cultures
- Spraying, harvesting, grading, packing and more!
- Working in a team to achieve a "Good days work."
- Setup, wash down and cleaning of work sites and equipment.
- A commitment to Health and Safety.
- Ability to follow instructions and tasks set by the Farm Manager.
About You You have a natural ability to lead through clear and precise communication and by setting an example for others to follow. You have a positive attitude, are super reliable and work well in a team environment. An enthusiasm in your work that drives high efficiency and productivity, an attitude that you turn up eager to get stuck in! You have great communication and listening skills and you pay attention to and follow instructions. You enjoy a full day's work and are happy to pick up overtime and work any day of the week including weekends as needed.
- You're cheerful and friendly with others!
- Work 5 days a week, plus you may be required to work Saturday… But not all!
- You'll pass a drug test
- You're physically fit and capable of standing/walking/bending down repeatedly.
- Must have a full, clean driver's license and reliable transport (International accepted)
- Class 2- 4 Licence
- Forklift Licence
- Growsafe
