Auckland Hort Services Limited
Listing Description
Description
Horticultural Machinery Operator
Auckland Hort Services Limited is a well-established horticultural contracting business based just 5 minutes south of Pukekohe, servicing the kiwifruit industry from Te Kauwhata in the south to Helensville in the north. Our work is all year round, with busy seasonal peaks from August to December and March to May, which typically enables both a summer and a winter holiday outside peak periods.
The opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join our team as a Horticultural Machinery Operator. You will primarily operate one of our self-propelled atom sprayers, with the opportunity to work across other machinery for mowing, mulching, fertiliser and compost spreading. Because horticulture is weather-dependent, you’ll need to be comfortable working some extended hours and weekends, especially during the busy harvest period, while enjoying more flexible time during quieter months.
What you’ll bring
- Full New Zealand Drivers Licence.
- A great attitude, reliability and strong work ethic.
- Basic mechanical know-how and a willingness to learn how to operate and care for machinery.
- Confidence with basic maths and the ability to complete paperwork and records accurately when required.
- Commitment to following company policies and representing Auckland Hort Services professionally on customer sites.
- Ability to work well in a team and also get the job done independently without supervision.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when required, particularly in peak season.
What we offer
- Competitive remuneration based on skills and experience.
- Mobile phone and iPad with unlimited data.
- Work vehicle supplied to the right applicant.
- The chance to work with modern machinery in a growing horticultural sector.
- The opportunity to work towards your Class 5 truck licence and forklift licence, paid for by the company (conditions apply).
- A supportive, down-to-earth team environment where initiative and reliability are recognised.
How to apply
The successful applicant MUST be eligible to work in New Zealand and will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test before any offer is finalised.
