Job Duties Require two Fruit Production Supervisors for our orchards

Job Duties

1. Orchard Operations & Crop Management Plan and coordinate kiwifruit orchard activities from soil preparation to harvest, considering environmental and market factors.

Oversee planting, bud thinning, pruning, training, and other key orchard tasks.

Maintain optimal growing conditions through effective irrigation supervision.

Monitor crop progress and ensure orchard standards are maintained throughout the season.

1. Team Leadership & Supervision Lead, motivate, and supervise orchard staff and seasonal workers to meet daily and weekly targets.

Provide on-job training for workers performing orchard tasks.

Allocate work, set expectations, and ensure productivity and safety compliance.

Maintain excellent communication with team members, contractors, and management.

1. Operational Planning & Reporting Organise and oversee farming operations such as collecting, storing, and dispatching produce.

Maintain accurate records of orchard activities including labour allocation, production, and crop management tasks.

Assist in planning orchard schedules to meet contract and market requirements.

Monitor supply usage and report equipment or resource needs.

1. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure a safe working environment and enforce health & safety protocols on-site.

Identify hazards, manage risks, and ensure all workers follow safety procedures.

Promote a culture of responsibility, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

1. Equipment & Infrastructure Maintenance Oversee the maintenance of orchard equipment, tools, and machinery.

Ensure proper upkeep of irrigation systems as required.

Other Information Please note: successful candidates will required to undergo police and drug test.

Please note: These positions are required to work on weekends, including early mornings, and late evenings as the work demands.
