We’re looking for a reliable Maturity Tester and Logistics Administrator to join our team.
Since 1862, Johnny Appleseed has grown from a local orchard into one of New Zealand’s leading fruit producers. Our Hawke’s Bay operations focus on producing high quality fruit for the domestic market, alongside a strong export programme. We operate our own packhouse and support orchard, logistics and export operations year-round.
This is a varied role that suits someone who enjoys a wide variety of work, including administration and working with different teams across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing and recording fruit maturity before and during apple harvest
- Collecting, documenting and managing fruit quality data
- Assisting with export container loading and documentation
- Providing backup support to dispatch and logistics functions
- Assisting in the packhouse as required based on workload
The Ideal Candidate:
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life
- Confident computer skills, including MS Office and other systems
This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure across orchard, logistics and packhouse operations, within a supportive team and well-established business. You’ll have the opportunity to build skills across quality, logistics and operations.
