Orchard Machinery Operators

Team Work (Hawkes Bay) Limited operates orchards and a few cropping sites in Hastings Hawkes Bay. We’re looking for three experienced Orchard Machinery Operators to join our team in full-time, permanent positions. These roles involve a wide variety of orchard operations and machinery work, with consistent year‑round employment (not seasonal), and higher workloads during peak growing periods. We grow a variety of crops including apples, pears, stone fruit, corn, and some vegetable lines — with apples being our main production.

About the Role

Duties include:

Operating tractors, mowers, sprayers, and other orchard machinery Supporting orchard operations such as mowing, mulching, spraying, pruning support & general block maintenance Completing accurate spray logs, chemical calculations & compliance records Routine machinery checks & basic maintenance Early morning starts for spraying before wind conditions change On‑call duties during frost events (late nights/early mornings) Outdoor work in all weather conditions

What We’re Looking For To be successful, you will need:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in horticulture or viticulture At least 12 months operating orchard/viticulture machinery Strong numerical and record‑keeping skills (spray logs, chemical calculations) Full, clean NZ driver licence Physically fit and able to work on your feet outdoors Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required Availability over peak periods — limited Christmas/New Year leave Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure Reliable, motivated attitude and ability to work well in a team

Additional Requirements

Must pass a pre‑employment drug & alcohol test Subject to random and reasonable-cause testing during employment
