Our head office is based in Blenheim, with hardworking teams also operating across Hawke’s Bay, Marlborough, and the Bay of Plenty.
It’s a big time for Hortus – We’re leading the way in RSE accommodation and wraparound care, growing fast in the region and dreaming bigger, all whilst building a strong, focused and caring team. We are looking to grow our team in Hawkes Bay with the following roles:
- 12-month fixed term full-time pastoral care support role working a minimum of 30 hours per week on a rostered basis
- 12-month fixed term casual overnight pastoral care support, working on-call for a minimum of five nights per week between 8pm and 8am on a rostered basis
What you will do:
- Supporting our people isn’t just part of the job – it is the job! Our mission is to build a community that backs our kiwi and international workers with meaningful and practical daily support in all areas of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing.
- Support our wellbeing and workforce teams to deliver inductions and offboarding processes of our RSE employees, ensuring they are set up for success and cared for whilst living on site.
- Provide transport and in-person support for RSE workers attending medical and other appointments across Hawke’s Bay, offering a reliable and compassionate companion driving service that ensures they feel supported, respected, and advocated for when needed.
- You’ll be genuinely interested in getting to know our people, finding common ground and building strong relationships
We’re after people who:
- Have a genuine desire to help others - a friendly nature and patient approach is essential.
- Perhaps you are semi-retired or retired person, an ex-taxi or bus driver, or even have a medical or health background, with spare time on your hands?
- Work can be scheduled across Monday to Sunday, so flexibility to work weekends is essential
- Hold a full, clean NZ driver licence
- Ideally have a current First Aid Certificate, although we are willing to train if you don’t
- Able to pass a driver assessment along with pre-employment checks, including a Drug & Alcohol test and a Ministry of Justice report
- Confidently use phone apps and open to learning digital ways of working
