Agricultural Machine Operator

Nagle Contracting is a growing contracting business based in Methven, an hour south of Christchurch. We pride ourselves in running a modern fleet of machinery which Includes Fendt and John Deere Tractors, Claas Mowers, Rakes, Forage Harvesters and JCB Loader as well as Case Balers, Lely Round Baler, Bergmann Wagon and Case Tractor. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Agricultural Chopper Driver to join the team for the remainder of the current season and beyond. All applicants must have a Full/Clean Driving licence, be competent with our online job tracker technology and must take pride in their work and their machine. Please note hours may be long and challenging, often operating unsupervised and under pressure. Minimum 60 hours a fortnight - Maximum 180 hours a fortnight. All applicants will need to be physically fit for a wide variety of day-to-day tasks that come with operating the Chopper.

Vacancy 1: We are also looking for a motivated and skilled operator with a minimum of three years’ experience operating and maintaining our Claas Jaguar 960 and 950 forage harvesters. You must have good communication skills including competent operation of Claas Technology, be able to liaise with Managers, other employees and Farmers on the day-to-day operations. Previous experience with an Orbis 600 Maize Header is essential. Must be physically fit to cover silage stacks.

Applicants with Tractor Mechanic qualifications are beneficial as well as a background in machinery servicing would be an advantage as you will be required to service and repair machinery in the yard frequently. Remuneration rate is $25-$40 per hour depending on experience.
