Track Work Rider and Stable Hand

Located just outside of Matamata at the Matamata Racecourse, Wexford Stables is a fast-paced and dynamic team currently looking to hire three experienced stable staff for an immediate start.

You must:

· Have at least three years experience riding trackwork and general stable duties · Be physically fit and able to work in a busy stable · Be able and confident to work with young, race-fit horses including colts · Be available for early morning starts and some weekend work · Have good communication skills

Your daily duties will include:

· Riding daily trackwork · General stable duties such as mucking out, grooming, hosing, feeding, rugging, leading, and handling horses · Saddling and tacking up horses for work · Loading/unloading horses from transport · Monitoring horses for injuries and illnesses and administering appropriate treatments where necessary · Holding horses for the vets and farriers · Licensed applicants may be able to attend trial days and race days as a strapper Guaranteed at least 30 hours a week with some weekend work required on a rotating roster.

Offering $30 an hour for the right applicants.

Open to New Zealand residents and those eligible to work in New Zealand.
