Looking for a job with variety? This may be the one for you. We are looking for a full-time load master to join our Skywork team at our Thames base.
About us: Skywork Helicopters Limited is an Agricultural / Commercial Helicopter company located across 4 bases in the North Island. Skywork provides a variety of aerial services ranging from forestry and agricultural services, firefighting, search and rescue, commercial lifting, power industry support, to corporate charters and tourism activities.
About the Position: Provide support to our Pilots by undertaking a variety of tasks to enable commercial helicopter aerial services to be executed, including the operation and maintenance of an extensive range of associated equipment and vehicles utilised with the services provided.
Tasks and Responsibilities: - Undertake inspection & preparation of vehicles and equipment. - Light engineering and mechanical maintenance - Prepare operational sites to the required safety standards - Assist the pilot in the maintenance of all equipment, and update all relevant operational paperwork - Loading & unloading of Helicopter equipment from aircraft, vehicles and operational sites - Thorough cleaning of the Helicopter and equipment - Preparing aircraft, vehicles and equipment for tasking - Drive support vehicles to work sites, including operating support equipment - Cleaning and maintenance of base premises and/or any other associated assets utilised - Aircraft fueling and fuel management - Management and safe handling of chemicals, fertilisers and pest control substances - Comply with all company PPE workwear and safety requirements, including pre-employment checks and drug testing - Working varied hours/days around weather, workload and emergency callouts
What you’ll need: - Strong work & safety ethic, along with being a great team player - Be physically fit, energetic and be professionally tidy in your appearance consistently - A willingness to learn new skills as well as being able to listen and follow instructions in a highly safety-focused role. - Hold a NZ Drivers license as a minimum, and preferably hold your Class 2&4 with a DG Endorsement, or be prepared to achieve these as soon as possible - Be able to communicate effectively, show initiative and have great attention to detail - The ability to problem-solve and think on your feet
Due to the hours and nature of this position, it is a requirement to live within 20 – 25 minutes of your principal base location.
