Small Home Consultants is looking for a motivated Junior Architectural Designer to join our team on a Full-time, hybrid work environment. This role is ideal for someone starting their career who wants hands-on experience working on residential projects, preparing drawings, and supporting design development. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and proficient in using AutoDesk Revit software. You’ll assist with concept design through drawings for building consent and council documentation, while learning real-world design and consent processes. The position offers fulltime hours, hybrid work, and the opportunity to grow your skills within a small office environment. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable using Revit Software.

Must have:

• AutoDesk Revit proficiency
• NZ Resident
• Proficient English language skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work from home sufficient internet + home office space
• Conversant in Windows Office product suite
• Focused and motivated with desire to achieve
• Accuracy and efficiency in daily deliverables
• Practical design and problem-solving skillset
• Ability to self-manage timelines

Key Responsibilities:

• Your primary role will be to produce building consent documents, specifications, thermal reports and undertaking the application process.
• Collaborate with clients, fellow team members to develop consent drawings.
• Self-manage project executables
• It is preferred but not essential that applicant have an understanding of the New Zealand Building Code, NZS3604, the Building Consent process.
