Automotive EV Technician

At EVs Enhanced we are specialists in products and services that make owning electric vehicles better. We work on EVs from a range of Asian manufacturers including Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, BYD, MG, LDV and more. With the recent surge in EV interest, there is more than enough work coming through the door in our Christchurch-based service centre, so we’re looking for another automotive technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a general automotive technician, but prior experience working on EVs and high voltage systems is not essential. You’ll have the opportunity to work with and learn from our experienced EV technicians and engineers and develop your EV knowledge and skill set while working on the job. In the role you’ll be:

• Performing maintenance, updates and enhancements exclusively exclusively on EVs
• Working with out senior technicians to learn fault diagnostics and repair skills on both high and low voltage systems
• Salvaging useful parts from damaged/parts vehicles
• Helping to keep our workshop tidy and organised

You’ll ideally have:

• An automotive qualification and experience working as a general automotive technician
• An interest in electric vehicles and emerging technology
• A strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• An interest in how and why things work and a history of pulling things apart to understand them.

Experience that isn’t essential but would make you a strong candidate:

• Experience working around EVs, hybrids or other high voltage systems
• Experience with lithium ion batteries
