Automotive Technician – Jim Wright Motor Group (Te Rapa, Hamilton)

Authorised Service Agent for Nissan, Renault, Jaecoo & Omoda Jim Wright Motor Group is expanding, and we’re looking for a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at our Te Rapa workshop. We operate as an authorised service agent for Nissan, Renault, Jaecoo and Omoda, offering a modern working environment, ongoing support, and opportunities to grow.

About the Role As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring all repairs and maintenance meet manufacturer standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing servicing, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles to a high standard
• Accurately diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults
• Using factory diagnostic equipment to carry out updates and report findings
• Identifying existing or potential vehicle issues and preparing quotes where required
• Working collaboratively with the workshop team while being able to work unsupervised when needed

We are seeking someone who brings professionalism, strong technical ability, and attention to detail. You will need:

• Qualification in Automotive Technician
• Current WOF Inspector ticket preferred but not essential
• Experience in vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and repair
• Strong electrical and fault-finding skills
• Full, clean NZ driver’s license
• NZ Residency or a valid work permit Please note: This position is not eligible for a work visa

Location & Hours This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Te Rapa, Hamilton dealership.

• Standard hours: ~40 hours per week
• Rostered Saturdays: approx. once per month (8am – 12pm)
