Automotive Technician - BA Autoworks Lower Hutt

BA Autoworks is a new, locally owned and operated workshop built on a passion for quality automotive work and honest service. We specialise in vehicle servicing, Warrant of Fitness inspections, repairs, and performance modifications. As a new business, we’re creating a workshop culture that values craftsmanship, curiosity, loyalty and above all, we value the relentless pursuit for improvement!

The Role: We’re looking for a capable and motivated Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our team. This role offers plenty of variety — from everyday maintenance and diagnostics to performance upgrades, fabrication, and custom projects. Customer service skills are a must as you will be dealing with customers day to day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
• Diagnose faults with industry standard diagnostics tool and technical resources
• Carry out performance modifications and upgrades (bonus if you can weld and fabricate)

About You:

• Qualified Automotive Technician preferred, but open to all strong candidates with solid experience. (welding and fabrication is a bonus)
• AVI WOF Qualification (bonus)
• Confident using automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and think outside the box
• Curious by nature — keen to understand how and why things work
• Reliable, self-driven, and takes pride in producing high-quality results
