Description

We, at East Coast Heavy Diesel and Machinery have a very exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join our team. We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Manager or someone who is ready to take the next step in their career, who can lead from the front, keep the workshop humming, and still have a want to be on the tools at times. We provide support for all Commercial Transport Vehicles, Earth Moving Equipment and Machinery. We are partnered with a large range of well-known brands, such as Scania, FUSO and Iveco for this role. We operate from two sites at present, Gisborne and Whakatane. We are currently recruiting for our branch in Whakatane. We are a family-owned business, with family values at our core. We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated fully qualified Workshop Manager; that has vast knowledge of the transport repair world. (Class 5 license is desired) You would be working in our modern, fit-for- purpose facilities that help make work more enjoyable and efficient.

To be successful in this role you would need the following attributes.

  • Previous experience of managing a Workshop. Have at least 3 years' experience (including a trade qualification) in the diesel repair and maintenance field as a fully qualified technician and have the willingness to learn as we grow with our Partners as well as growing the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and support technicians and apprentices
  • Ability to think outside the box and be able to solve problems.
  • Having a good understanding of repair and maintenance of a diverse range of vehicles, plant and equipment is a bonus.
  • Have a good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers at all levels and be a team player.
  • Hold a full Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Take pride in your workmanship and getting it right the first time.
  • Come with enthusiastic, positive and motivated work ethic and nature.
  • The commitment to working within ECHD Health and Safety policies.
  • You will need to have a good level of fitness to meet the demands of the role.
