Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established Christchurch business with a reputation for delivering complex civil, transport and infrastructure projects across New Zealand.
This is a workshop-based role where you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a modern and vintage fleet of heavy transport trucks and civil equipment. No two days are the same, with work ranging across trucks, trailers, earthmoving equipment and specialist machinery that supports some of the South Island's largest infrastructure and construction projects. The business operates nationwide across transport, civil construction, engineering meaning the workshop is always busy with a diverse range of equipment.

The Role
Working from the Christchurch workshop, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet including:
You'll carry out servicing, diagnostics, fault finding, hydraulic repairs, preventative maintenance and general mechanical repairs, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard and ready to support projects throughout New Zealand.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working as part of a close-knit team, and wants exposure to a broad range of modern heavy equipment rather than being tied to a single brand or product line.
What we're looking for
- Trade Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or 3-5+ years' experience
- Strong experience working on either heavy truck, earthmoving or civil equipment
- Confident with diagnostics and fault finding
- Good hydraulic and electrical fault-finding ability
- Takes pride in producing quality workmanship
- Positive attitude with a team-first approach
