Diesel Mechanic
Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay are on the hunt for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join one of our valued clients. This is a hands-on role servicing and repairing fleet vehicles, trucks, and heavy machinery in a modern, well-equipped workshop. If you’re mechanically minded with a passion for diesel engines and heavy equipment, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a supportive team environment.
Location: Hastings Start date: Immediate start available Pay rate: Competitive hourly rate + depends on expirience (paid weekly) You’ll be responsible for:
- Servicing and maintaining fleet vehicles, trucks, and heavy machinery
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
- Performing preventative maintenance and safety checks
- Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Ensuring accurate service and repair records are kept
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Trade qualification in Automotive or Heavy Diesel Mechanics (or equivalent experience)
- Solid mechanical skills with strong problem-solving ability
- Current NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 2 or higher an advantage)
- Positive attitude and strong focus on safe work practices
